Project Overview
The challenge presented to us with this project was that it was a reconstruction project. This meant that we had to redevleop the building while concurrently retain its existing structure – which was a challenge in itself as the existing structure was trapezoidal. We also had to factor in the demands of the building being a religious instituiton including that inevitable heat generated by large congregation during Friday Prayers.
To overcome these challenges, we ensured that are strategic design worked with existing geometries rather than fought against it. We also incorporated as much natural ventilation into hte design as possible, which earnt us a Green Mark Award.
